Welcome to Pension Hibiscus Taha'a - Your authentic getaway nestled on the Vanilla Island. Here, luxury is not found in the superficial, but in total disconnection and genuine Polynesian hospitality.

We know that organizing a trip is an adventure in itself. With our 7 unique bungalows, each with its own soul and view, one question often comes up: "Which one is right for me?"

A Note on Our Spirit

Before choosing your bungalow, it is important to understand the soul of Pension Hibiscus Taha'a. We are not a hotel, and we are proud of it! If you are looking for daily housekeeping, room service, a 24/7 front desk, a concierge, zero mosquitoes, no roosters, a city-center location, or a butler... you will be disappointed, as that is not who we are.

We cultivate a "Family Guesthouse" (Pension de famille) mood: a simple, warm welcome and total freedom. We carefully prepare your bungalow before you arrive and handle the final cleaning after your departure. In between? It’s your home! We empty trash cans upon request, and for those staying on a long-term basis, a cleaning service is scheduled mid-stay.

This is the perfect choice for travelers seeking comfort, simplicity, cultural immersion, and independence. Conversely, it is a catastrophic choice for travelers seeking permanent assistance, those who prefer not to read the information provided before their stay, luxury seekers, or people with mobility issues, as all our bungalows have small steps at the entrance.

1. For Couples: "2 to 3 Person" Bungalows

Bungalows Tipanier, Tiare, and Motoi

True havens of peace (36 m²) with private bathrooms and toilets.

• Capacity: 2 to 3 people.

• Ideal for: Couples seeking tranquility, small families with one child, or small groups of friends traveling as a duo or trio.

• Layout: 1 double bed and 1 single bed.

• Vibe: Intimate and warm, with a soothing view of our gardens.

• Fans available (if you prefer not to use AC).

• Decent Wi-Fi available in rooms and at the restaurant.

• Free use of bicycles and kayaks.

• Relaxation area: Sun loungers on the restaurant dock for sunbathing or sipping cocktails.

• Restaurant: Open during service hours, but terraces are accessible freely at any time.

A Note from the Pension: Bungalows Tiare and Motoi have been freshly renovated. We have specifically stabilized the hot water (no more showers that are too hot or too cold!). Tiare and Motoi are our true gems. Following their success, we will launch the renovation of Tipanier in May 2026 to complete the update of our "2-3 person" bungalows, which are by far our best-sellers.

2. For Small Families: "2 to 4 Person" Bungalows

Bungalows Ape and Taina

True havens of peace (37 m² — more space for the family) with private bathrooms.

• Capacity: 2 to 4 people.

• Ideal for: Families with two children or groups of 4 friends.

• Layout Specifics:

  • Bungalow Ape: 1 double bed and 1 "boat" bed (ideal for children).

  • Bungalow Taina: 1 double bed on the ground floor and 1 double bed on the mezzanine (perfect for independence).

• Small refrigerator.

A Note from the Pension: For families with toddlers or children under 12: please note that Bungalow Taina may be problematic. The mezzanine is accessed via a fairly steep staircase. In this case, we strongly recommend booking Bungalow Ape, which is much better suited for the safety of younger children.We have upgraded the TV channels and Wi-Fi in these rooms, as we know how challenging traveling with children can be if the screens don't work! However, please keep a close eye on your children at the restaurant: our dock does not have safety railings.

3. For Larger Families: The "5 Person" Bungalow

Bungalow Opuhi

A spacious 37 m² haven with private bathroom.

• Capacity: 2 to 5 people.

• Layout: 1 double bed and 1 single bed on the ground floor, and 2 single beds (convertible into 1 double bed) on the mezzanine.

Comfort & Amenities:

• Air conditioning and TV.

• Welcome set: Kettle, coffee, tea, and infusions.

• Small refrigerator.

• Fans available (if you prefer not to use AC).

• Decent Wi-Fi available in rooms and at the restaurant.

Our largest unit, designed for gathering and creating unforgettable memories.

• Capacity: Up to 10 people!

• Layout: 2 double beds on the ground floor (sleeps 4) and 6 single beds upstairs.

• Vibe: Generous and functional. The perfect hub for your tribe while enjoying the pension spirit.

A Note from the Pension: We have fully renovated Bungalow Aute, addressing previous feedback regarding lighting, the upstairs flooring, and the bathroom. Today, Aute's bathroom is by far the most beautiful in the pension. The upstairs floor is brand new, and the air conditioning has been upgraded to cover the large volume of the building—so whether you sleep downstairs or upstairs, it will be cool and comfortable. Fans are also available.
